Two 18-hole Donald Ross designed golf courses have earned us our place amongst the country’s best golf resorts – one of which our guests and USGA Championships return to time and again.
Both Pine Needles and Mid Pines are ranked in the Top 25 of Golfweek’s ‘Top 100 Courses in the USA’. Mid Pines is ranked #2 in North Carolina and #85 in the Nation, while Pine Needles is ranked #4 in North Carolina. We’ve had the honor of housing some of the best names in golf, as well as the up and coming golfers of our time during multiple U.S. Kids World Championship Tournaments held right at Mid Pines.
Three USGA Women’s Opens
Pine Needles is one of the few golf resorts to hold three USGA Women’s U.S. Opens. Our first U.S. Open was held in 1996, the year Annika Sorenstam took home the trophy. Following Annika’s win was Karrie Webb in 2001 and Christie Kerr in 2007. All three of these ladies have earned a special spot in the Pine Needles Hall of Fame and in our hearts.
For nearly a century, golfers have reveled in the scenic
ambiance of Pine Needles and Mid Pines Resorts.
Many guests enjoy the rustic chalet style of The Lodge at Pine Needles. Its relaxed atmosphere gives our guests the sense of their home away from home. Established in 1927, Pine Needles welcomes you to experience our casual resort setting featuring 74 recently renovated guest rooms, a magnificent golf course, and several banquet facilities and dining options.
The Inn at Mid Pines is a stately Georgian-style Inn. Mid Pines welcomes its guests with the hospitality and charm of the Old South. In addition to the charming hotel we offer a variety of villas overlooking our beautiful fairways. The minute you step through our grand entrance, you will feel a sense of overwhelming history and charm, as if you stepped back in time.
