Eaton, Hollowell Awarded Top Honor in 2016 Pine Needles Club Member-Guest Tournament

Two-day annual event featured 50 teams competing in two rounds of golf, putting contest and skills challenge

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – October 27, 2016 –Member Sean Eaton (Fort Mill, S.C.) and Guest Mike Hollowell (Charlotte, N.C.) were awarded top honor in the 2016 Pine Needles Club Member-Guest Tournament held annually at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club and Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club.

A field of 50 teams participated in this year’s two-day event, which featured two rounds of golf, putting contest, skills challenge, cocktail reception and awards ceremony. Over $7,500 in prizes were awarded during the event.

The Eaton-Hollowell team won the Overall Championship in a sudden-death playoff with a net score of 131. The other two teams competing in the playoff were Brady Rowland (Southern Pines, N.C.) and Robert Rowland (Raleigh, N.C.) and Kel Norman and Robin Williams, both from Sanford, N.C.  The team of Murphy Paderick (Sanford, N.C.) and Miller Robins (Raleigh, N.C.) won the Overall Low Gross Championship with a score of 139 in a scorecard playoff with Ron Giles (Pinehurst, N.C.) and Howell Edwards (Godwin, N.C.).
