Golf Channel Top 25 Public Courses Includes Mid Pines, Pine Needles

Mid Pines Top 25 Public CoursesGolf Channel’s resident travel insider, Matt Ginella, recently provided golfers with his ‘Top 50 Public Courses,’ among his Top 25 public courses were Mid Pines and Pine Needles. Mid Pines at #18 and Pine Needles at #22.

Ginella visited Pine Needles – Mid Pines earlier this year, where he experienced first-hand Mid Pines’ extensive restoration. During his countdown, Ginella chatted with Kyle Franz of KMF Golf Course Design, who oversaw the restoration of Mid Pines, about what drew Franz to Mid Pines, what went into the restoration and how golf has changed in the Sandhills region.

This past summer, Franz also oversaw a renovation project at Pine Needles to convert the greens to bermuda grass.

Check out Matt Ginella’s countdown and interview with Kyle Franz here.
