Championship is one of the longest, consecutively played women’s amateur championships in the country
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – March 2, 2017 – Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club has been named host of the 87th Annual Women’s Trans National Golf Association Championship. The event will be held July 10-14, 2017.
“It is an honor to host the Women’s Trans National, one of the nation’s oldest and longest-running women’s amateur events,” said Kelly Miller, President of Pine Needles – Mid Pines Resort. “Our resorts have a long history honoring the rich legacy of women’s golf. We are privileged to host a championship that echoes that tradition.”
One of the longest, consecutively played women’s amateur championships in the country, the Championship draws a strong field of career amateurs, collegiate players, and LPGA hopefuls.
This marks the fourth time that Mid Pines has hosted the Championship. Mid Pines also hosted in 2005 (Champion: Paige Mackenzie), in 1983 (Champion: Sherri Steinhauser) and in 1977 (Champion: Catherine Reynolds).
