Pine Needles & Mid Pines Announce Staff Additions

Add Food & Beverage Manager and Assistant Golf Professional to Team

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – November 3, 2017 – Pine Needles & Mid Pines Resorts recently announced the addition of Kodie Engel as Mid Pines Food & Beverage Manager, and John Vasquez as Assistant Golf Professional.

Originally from Niagara Falls, N.Y., Engel graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 2016 with an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts and a bachelor’s degree in Restaurant Management. He was certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers, highlighting a passion for wine. Engel moved to the Sandhills area in the summer of 2016 for a job in Food & Beverage at Pinehurst Resort’s The Deuce. He currently lives in Moore County with his girlfriend and their dog, a German shepherd named Opus (after the wine, Opus One).  In his role as Food & Beverage Manager, Engel will oversee all food and beverage service at Mid Pines, including special events, the convention center, Dining Room, Pop’s Lounge and our famous Sunday Brunch Buffet.

Originally from Las Cruces, N.M, John Vasquez is a Class A PGA Member with experience working at both public and high-end private golf courses. Vasquez grew up around the game of golf. Growing up, he would often take weekend trips to the golf course with his dad and grandfathers. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and specialized in the PGA Golf Management at New Mexico State University. He enjoys helping golfers to fine-tune their game while also having fun. In his role as Assistant Golf Professional, Vasquez will assist guests in the Golf Shop, during the Ladies, Youth and Adult Golfaris, Couples Jamboree and Carousel and private and group instruction, as well as assist resort guests during our golf seasons.
